Temperament
The Japanese Chin is a devoted dog and companion. It is friendly towards strangers, other canines, and other household pets. It has a gentle nature and would make a good dog for a child of gentle nature. They’ve described as having cat like qualities and some can climb quite well.
Upkeep and Health
The Japanese Chin is lively and requires some exercise but due to it’s small stature, a romp in the yard or house will achieve the same degree of exercise as a short walk for these dogs. This breed does not do well outside and does not do well in hot humid weather. Some Japanese Chin have a tendency to wheeze. Their long fur should be brushed a couple times a week.
